We met Shea & Jon last December (2018) for an engagement/ love story video session after they won an Instagram contest we were a part of with Jordan Keenan Photography & Make My Day Planning. We loved getting to know these two before their wedding and they also had the cutest love story... check it out:
Their wedding was in October at Chandler Oaks Barn. A gorgeous venue in St. Augustine, Florida. It's definitely not a typical barn venue. It's painted all white, it's very elegant, and the bridal suite is absolutely gorgeous! They have several ceremony options, but Shea really wanted an outdoor ceremony. Unfortunately, rain was in the forecast that day so they had to move it inside, but look how beautiful her backup option was! She was so "go- with- the- flow" though, a little rain couldn't bother her! *Strongly suggest you choose a venue with a rain backup option that you still love like she did, especially if you live in Florida!!!*
Funny story about these two. So when we did their love story video, I swore Jon looked familiar, but he said he lived in Georgia, so I was like hmm, must just be one of those things. Well, on their wedding day I ran into a guy I used to work with (hey Phil!), and thought it was crazy seeing him there! And he thought it was crazy I was filming Jon's wedding... put two and two together and it hit me! We all used to work together about 8 years ago at Ale House! (I only worked there for a month and neither of us remembered each other until Phil mentioned it lol) But how crazy right?! Eight years later, he won our Instagram contest and now I'm filming his wedding. Small world! Anyways, let's fast forward to the good stuff. When we showed up that day to their wedding, we had no idea how much that day would impact us. From the moment we got there, them (and all of their friends and family) were just so real and unfiltered and just completely themselves. Not only that, but they welcomed us (basically everyone that was a part of their wedding that day) and treated us all like family. I've never felt so much love in one room. Shea & Jon wrote their own vows. Please, everyone do this at your wedding! This day is all about you two, and I think with all of the traditions and fluff of weddings, that gets forgotten. You could just feel the entire day these two didn't forget this. They knew this day was all about celebrating the love they share for each other. You could feel this in their vows (I cried), during the best man's speech (I cried), and during the surprise mother daughter dance (you guessed it, I cried). Just watch this video and see for yourself (and I dare you not to cry!)
Shea & Jon, thank you for everything! For entering that Instagram contest, for choosing us to capture these memories for you, for treating us like family on your big day, and for reminding us why we love what we do!
